Artist Statement

I feel strongly about documentation and the travelogue format. My concepts are draw from memory, landscape, nostalgia, movement, people, and their characteristics. Mainly fired in wood kilns my process involves mark making and alterations; expressed through textures, gestures and allegorical representations. Digging for clay in the Hingol River of Baluchistan, covering myself in the mineral mud, and sleeping under the night sky, I become a part of the landscape, and the landscape a part of me. Such interactions and experiences all contribute to these personal anecdotes in clay.
